May 13, 2014, electrical teachers took the 31 students of Ethiopian signaling & telecommunication class to line 9, Tianjin LRT (light rail transit), for professional practice. Mr. Wu, engineer from LRT, gave an on-site lecture on equipment operation and maintenance, and the working system.
Ethiopia students were firstly shown the interlocking equipment machine room of light rail No.9 line. The teachers and Mr. Wu explained the types and functions of the equipment there, the communication and network between different equipment, and how to maintenance the equipment. They also got a chance to see the outdoor track circuit, signal and switch devices.
The in-situ teaching surely helps the Ethiopia S&T students to learn more about LRT signaling and communication equipment. They all liked it and are hoping for more practical trainings.
